At the 2021 Siloam Springs Heritage Festival we launched our Siloam Springs Apple History project. Thanks to a grant from the Arkansas State Department of Heritage, we have purchased 100 local heritage variety apple tree saplings from Ames Orchard and Nursery. We started signups at the festival, but there are still some trees available. See below and sign up to get yours!
Rules of Participation
Project participants must own the property where the tree is to be planted and the location must in Benton County, Arkansas.
In order to ensure that we give these special trees their best chance, we require each participant to complete an online short-course about Northwest Arkansas apple history and apple tree care.
